Superstars:
- D.H. Smith beat Matt Hardy. Natalya and Khali were at ringside. After the match, Khali cleared house, Royal Rumble style.
Smackdown:
- DX came out and cut a promo. Rey Mysterio came out and said that he was going to beat Undertaker at the Rumble so Shawn Michaels was out of luck. CM Punk and his crew came out but before much happened Teddy Long decreed that Punk would would take on HHH tonight while Shawn Michaels would wrestle Mysterio.
- Punk lost to HHH via DQ when the Society attacked HHH. Michaels made the save.
- In a brutal No DQ match, Drew McIntyre beat John Morrison.
- R-Truth beat Chris Jericho.
- Michelle McCool beat Layla, who was wearing a fat suit and wrestled as Piggie James.
- Mysterio and Michaels was a non-finish because Batista came in and attacked them. HHH came out to make the save, and Undertaker then appeared and laid out Rey and Shawn.

Mickie is losing at the Rumble. The whole feud has consisted of McCool making fun of her, and any attempt she has made to stick up for herself has ended with her getting physically destroyed, embarassed, or both. And now in the "go home" show, she doesn't even make an appearance. Some strong babyface.

So in the last show before the Rumble, your supposed top diva doesn't even show up after being totally embarassed the week before?
I thought Mickie said she wasn't going to let McCool get to her. So now she sits at home and cries while these two idiots make fun of her some more.
Even if Mickie does win this Sunday the damage has already been done. WWE has officially made her look like a tool. If this isn't a burial on the way out the door, it sure looks like it.
Her fans probaly expect her to go nuts at the PPV, but this is the PG era we are talking about. I'm thinking she jobs clean, and Beth steps up as the next challenger to McCool.

The problem with taping spoilers is that they occasionally omit backstage segments and often underplay or exaggerate crowd reactions. For all we know, Mickie was featured in some backstage skit, and the crowd remained as surprisingly into this rare Diva-centred angle as they have in weeks prior.
This and the CM Punk storyline are two of the main reasons Smackdown is returning to its heights of last year.

Not in this case. Mickie and Maria didn't appear on the show, and the segment with Michelle and Layla receieved "This is boring" chants, according to several different spoiler reports.

Wow, the two Mickie fans that comment sound like total retards. What a surprise.
Yeah, McCool is pretty horrible. But why do you want to see Mickie win the title again? Have you forgotten how terrible she is as a champion? After she won her first belt a few years ago, she has had exactly ZERO memorable matches since then.
I credit Trish for making that feud work more and more as time goes on. Mickie hasn't done anything remotely interesting since then. Whereas that was just another great feud for Trish, for Mickie it's about the only damn thing she's going to be remembered for.
Let McCool beat her, and then start throwing some new people at the champ. Here's a crazy suggestion: how about Beth?

Nice to see this stupid diva feud they spent so much time building up was totally shit on by the crowd. I only hope they do the same at the Rumble. Trust me, Mickie and Michelle are going to stink out the joint.
Michelle is so fucking boring, and Mickie has been garbage since 2006. She might be more over than Michelle, which means that she gets a mild reaction, as opposed to silence. But she doesn't truly connect with the crowd, and her matches are shit.
There will be apathy either way, but I'm really hoping for Michelle to win. Then we can start the next batch of rumors about Mickie retiring. I think she is, but her "retirement" will last about as long as Victoria's, with the same result.

Undertaker hasn't wrestled for ages and has missed a house show, clearlt he's in worse shape than ever and it can't go on. I can see Rey winning at the Rumble (perhaps due to botched interference from Batista) which sets up Rey v Punk or Rey v Punk v Morrison. for 'Mania. Undertaker can rest until 'Mania where he battles Cena - they might have to do it this year if Undertaker is so beat up. Jericho is involved with Edge...not sure where this leaves Batista...

Two things:
1. All this debate about Mickie James is fucking ridiculous at this stage. Both sides (her obsessed fans and the haters) are acting so stupidly about one woman. I really don't care about her at this point, but let's WAIT AND SEE what happens at the Rumble before saying she's on her way out. In whatever case I just hope Beth or Natalya get their chance after this is over.
2. Certain people in the IWC are saying McCool is talentless but then turn round and claim Maryse is the reincarnation of Trish Stratus. Yeah I like Maryse but to say she's better than McCool in anything (except for her looks and charisma) is stupid. Maryse gets about 5 pops on RAW and the IWC think she's over. And I think they (especially the American ones) are seething with self-hatred for favoring a French chick over a homegrown, All-American woman like McCool.

mickie will likely win the belt on sunday because michelle looked good at the tv shows before the ppv which means she is losing the belt on sunday.
michelle has a knee injury that needs surgery and she has been champ for 7 months.
mickie is not leaving wwe any time soon.
she is doing this album because she wants to give music a shot. if it fails, at least she tried it.
maybe after she does retire from wwe, she can write music if her future is not in singing country songs.

well not the best show but decent heading into a pay per view where the only things being pushed are the title matches and the rumble. THis mickie james/McCool angle is boring and they half assed it all the way to this pay per view. Mickie can lose and leave and laugh at the crap that is a women's division in WWE its a joke and McCool is the clown of it all. Feel sorry for Beth Phoenix and Natalya at this point there is no one else to actually "wrestle" than each other. Gail Kim hasn't been inspired in a match since leaving TNA mostly because these females are a little softer than the TNA women, you saw that her first spot she hit on one of the "divas" when she debuted. Gail had to scale back her offense ever since.
As for the comparison's to TNA's last show and future tapings......ummm don't do it. Not a shot at TNA but I am just tired of seeing that arguing back and forth.
Drew is being helped a hell of a lot by Morrison and the WWE because if he tried to stand on his own after getting that endorsement by McMahon it wouldn't work. It would suck and whats worse is you are getting ready to put out a Morrison DVD but have him getting beat down like that.

Problem is she never did anything to make the fans pay attention to her during the pre-PG era of WWE. Mickie James is primarily over because of her feud with Trish. Trish made Mickie what she is basically (this was before WWE went PG).
And consider Kelly Kelly, who is just as boring and lacking in personality as McCool. The only reason she is over is because she did a strip show on ECW, and the fans basically want to see her do that again. I guarantee that had McCool done the Extreme Expose, she'd be getting crowd reactions now. Likewise if Kelly didn't do it, nobody would care about her.
Just look at Divas like Maryse, Eve and Tiffany. All these women are gorgeous but nobody really cares about them (except for a few cheers for Maryse) because they debuted during a bad time for the Divas (PG WWE) so the WWE can't do anything edgy with them like they did with the women in the Attitude era and when the brand extension started.
McCool is basically a lesser version of Alundra Blayze - good in the ring but totally uncharismatic. Blayze got over in the 90's because it was a very different era and pre-dated the Divas.

Those are both matches I want to see and I certainly won't complain about them.
But I can see where people are coming from regarding the Unified Tag titles. DX hasn't made them a focus like Jerishow did. The only reason they have the title is because they never held it before. I want to see a title change because I feel that Punk and Gallows will have a better program for both themselves and the title itself being champions.

She's one of the few girls who can work a decent match without endangering herself or her opponent. Her disadvantage is that she is wrestling at a time when interest in the Divas are at an all time low. Transport McCool back in time to about 2002/03 and she'd probably get over.

You know, that's not a bad idea. And why the hell not? It was 5 years ago that he let Batista beat him clean for 3 straight PPV's. And if he did beat Batista at WM26, I'm sure the bitchy whiners would complain. But really, he put Batista over BIG time. And to not get a win back over the guy in 5 years? I think Triple H deserves that much. And it'd keep him out of the title match at 'Mania. So I'm all for that match.
And I can't see Mysterio beating Taker, but if there's interference like someone said already, and it leads to Rey vs. Punk at 'Mania for the title, that's fine too. Punk deserves to have a damn good one-on-one match at 'Mania, and that would be the way to go. I don't want to see him in Money in the Bank again. I'd LOVE it if Morrison won that this year. If they want to push his DVD, he'll have to. Because jobbing to that talentless hack McIntyre all the time isn't doing Morrison any favors.

Why does there have to be more to it than that? Not only is it not a ridiculous theory, it makes sense, and there's a history of it. Plenty of wrestlers were pushed more than their talent and connection with the crowd warranted because they had a relationship or friendship with someone in the company who had power and influence.

I'm actually okay with the tag title match not happening this way we have some time to build a fued up, rather than just have these guys go at it. There had been no build to this tag title match and now we can have some. Isn't that much better? How is Punk not bashing DX not going to be interesting. I just hope they don't screw this up and Hornswoggle goes heel and joins the SXE Society.
I'm sure before the endings to the Punk/HHH and Rey/HBK match they are actually rather entertaining and worth watching.
Then Jericho vs R-Truth I'm fine with that, Jericho is still getting paid and his credibility on a staged show isn't going down any.
A no DQ that is probably going to be over 15 mins, I'll take that since the guys in it are actually mobile and probably just not rolling around on the outside for 11 mins of the match after they throw a few punches at each other on the floor.

Funny last time people thought Jericho was being depushed he went on to win the heavyweight title. Then when people started whinning about him losing too much he got the unified tag titles, I think quite possibly Jericho will be fine. In other words stop crying about it. Seems people want to cry about veterans staying on top and not making new talent. Does it ever cross your minds that Jericho is a Veteran as well but since you like him he gets a pass? To hell with that if new talent needs to be made then do it. Stop bitchin about his loss and take as a single match a move on. As for Killings hell technically he is a veteran as well but in WWE he is made to look worse than he is in the ring. The WWE use him worse than what TNA did with him after he was one of their initial champions.
Mickie James, better than what the WWE has been doing with her and that is why some people may be right, she will do the same thing Victoria did should her music career suck she will go somewhere with a women's division that actually wrestles. Then again the way things are going under Hogan the knockouts will be ass out soon enough. For those thinking she has no talent, she went on to carry the division after Trish left, between her, Victoria, Phoenix, they made the injury prone Candace, Melina and at time McCool look almost decent. But no real point in arguing the real point is the WWE.....treats the women like an after thought even worse now with the PG rating because they can't protray them as tits and ass anymore.....probably why McCool and Maria managed not to have to get oversized implants.
